Alabama State University, College Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Department of Engineering , invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position is part of an interdisciplinary research initiative focused on developing innovative, eco-friendly materials for various applications, including specific applications such as packaging , construction, structural material, textiles, etc.. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting research on the design and process-property relationships of sustainable materials, and contribute to advancing the field through collaborations, and outreach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A PhD in Material Science and Engineering or closely related field, and demonstrated experience with sustainable materials, extrusion, additive manufacturing, thermal and mechanical characterizations of polymers and composites.

• Conduct independent and collaborative research on the design and characterization of sustainable materials
• Develop and optimize processing techniques for biodegradable and renewable materials
• Analyze the life cycle and environmental impact of new materials
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including chemists, engineers, and environmental scientistfs
• Prepare and publish research findings in high impact journals
• Present research results at national and international conferences
• Mentor students involved in research projects
• Assist in grant writing and procuring funding for
