JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry are inviting applications for a postdoctoral research associate. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to an additional year, depending on the selected candidate’s continued interest and performance and continued funding. The position is contingent upon funding and will begin once the successful candidate is hired.
POSITION SUMMARY
We seek individuals interested in contributing to the development of the online database for chemical information of food and natural products and developing professional skills for future positions in academia or non-academic settings. Successful candidates should have a desire to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary and cross-departmental, team environment of professional staff, students, faculty, and administrators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or food and agriculture sciences or biomedical engineering.
- Minimum of three years work experience.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be expected to perform the responsibilities listed below:
- Collect and analyze data for secondary metabolites from botanical materials.
- Organize datasets into the formats suitable for the online database.
- Disseminate research findings at conferences and in referred journals and develop partnerships with researchers to further the project’s mission.
