POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN PLANT ENZYMOLOGY

Applications are invited for a full-time, short term (6 months) Postdoctoral Research Assistant Position in Plant Enzymology work under the supervision of Professor Emily Flashman (Department of Biology). The project involves analysis of the kinetic properties of Plant Cysteine Oxidase enzymes and variants thereof, both in vitro and in planta.
Applicants must hold (or have submitted their thesis towards) a PhD in Chemical Biology or a related area prior to taking up your appointment. The research requires knowledge of the N-degron pathway, plus experience in recombinant protein production, enzyme kinetic assays, plant transformation and genotypic/phenotypic analysis of Arabidopsis thaliana. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry (Rodney Porter Building) and is available from 01 December 2024.
