WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Special Note: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
Schedule: May require working evening and/or weekend hours.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Appropriate PhD
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Contributes to team effort by working effectively with all individuals
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- PhD in a Science or Chemistry related field
Responsibilities:
- Research: Conduct research on the synthesis of polycyclic aromatic compounds and their properties and applications. Conduct research on the interfacial synthesis of covalent organic frameworks and development of their applications.
- Data Analysis & Dissemination: Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings. Prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations, and grant proposals. Make presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues.
- Additional Research & Support: Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement. Keep up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members and act as a mentor to students. Maintain laboratory instrumentation, follow applicable safety standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
