Description:
POSTDOCTORAL POSITION – TUMOR MICROENVIRONMENT AND METASTASIS – VARGA LAB
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Steven Varga at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. The Varga laboratory studies the role of the innate and adaptive immune responses to respiratory viruses and T cell exhaustion during chronic infections and cancer. Ongoing studies leverage a wide array of model systems and techniques including novel mouse models of infection and cancer, patient-derived samples, in vitro co-culture systems, molecular biology, cellular immunology, and advanced flow cytometry approaches. The Varga lab is a very collaborative and interactive environment focused on the scientific and career development of trainees.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team. The applicant should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of collaborative research efforts, and a strong desire to make a major contribution to the field of respiratory viruses. Experience in cellular and molecular immunology, cell culture, or animal models is preferred but not required.
