Description:

We are seeking exceptional researchers with experience in structure determination of new solid-state inorganic materials to lead work on materials design and discovery. We welcome applications from ambitious researchers with the skills in solution and understanding of the structures of new materials across chemistry, physics and materials science.
You will form part of an interdisciplinary team working across physical and computer science to develop new pathways to the design and discovery of inorganic materials as part of the Leverhulme Centre for Functional Materials Design. This environment will facilitate the development of new skills and the demonstration of creativity and leadership.
Expertise in structure solution using powder X-ray diffraction-based techniques or electron microscopy methods is essential for the role, you should make your relevant experience for materials discovery clear in your application.
You should have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science.
The post is available for up to 36 months.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
