Description:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The person appointed must have a PhD with experience in qualitative research. You must have a sensitive, creative and flexible approach to fieldwork, and be available to travel in the UK. Experience in doing research with older people and an interest in posthuman ideas would be desirable.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
The successful candidate may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for a period of 2 years due to funding.
For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs.

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity for a full time postdoctoral researcher to work for two years on the Leverhulme Trust funded research project ‘Invisible Education Post 65: reconfiguring lives and learning’. The project is led by Professor Jocey Quinn and based in Plymouth Institute of Education, University of Plymouth. The project will explore the everyday learning of people aged over 65, conducting interviews and workshops across the UK.
