Responsibilities:

  • At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research.
  • This is a full-time position for 18 months. The researcher will work within the research group of Prof. Joachim Schouteten, Prof. Hans De Steur, and Prof. Xavier Gellynck, specializing in agri-food marketing and supply chain management (https://agecon.ugent.be/home/research/agri-food-marketing).
  • We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher with a strong scientific background in innovation, market analysis, and behavioral sciences in the agri-food chain, to be involved in research activities related to the work of Prof. Joachim Schouteten (sustainable innovations and entrepreneurship in the agri-food chain).
  • The postdoctoral researcher will, among other things, contribute to the socio-economic aspect of the ReJuice research project, which investigates the technical feasibility and applicability of the liquid portion of green residual streams.
  • The candidate will be involved in research closely connected to the domain of agri-food innovations with the goal of generating insights into methods applied for customer-led innovations in the agri-food industry. This includes both secondary and primary data collection and analysis, using survey techniques and interviews, as well as systematic analysis methods.
  • Additionally, the researcher will assist in further developing research on customer-oriented innovations, follow up on ongoing (PhD) projects, write scientific papers, assist in proposal writing, and contribute to the main activities of the research group.
