The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Impact and Assessment.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Within the newly established Research Impact Design Lab, the goal is to advance the science and practice of impact and assessment. The focus is to build a transdisciplinary network of experts and practitioners across three strategic pillars: Research Scholarship; Training; Experimental Action Lab. A partnership approach will be taken to leverage expertise internally to the University of Calgary as well as externally at a national and international level. There is opportunity to be involved in these three areas with a primary focus on the training and research scholarship:
- Training and Development
- Support curriculum development, develop and prepare training materials using the latest tools, facilitate and deliver impact training both in person and virtually
- Research Scholarship
- Support publications on the science and practice of assessing impact, realizing and optimizing real world impact
- Experimental Action Lab
- Support partnered studies in the field that involves project management and coordination as well as support publications of key projects. The purpose of the lab is to code sign, plan, implement, test and scale impact assessments and interventions to realize real world impact
An impact Network that supports and advises on these three pillars will be built out. The network will include alumni, mentors and coaches and also partners who may be interested in participating in international projects and field work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- List the minimum education/qualifications/skills the hiring manager is looking for in the successful candidate
- Completed Ph.D., that can be from Health, Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Computer Science, Business, Evaluation, Interdisciplinary/Transdisciplinary research
- Practical experience in assessing or realizing impact is an asset
