The Department of Oncology in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Psychosocial Oncology.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Supervising/mentoring more junior trainees from undergrad to PhD.
- Designing and implementing novel trial(s)/research focused in the areas of integrative and/or psychosocial oncology (e.g. mindfulness-based interventions; other mind-body therapies; creative therapies; psychedelics; effects of integrative interventions on novel outcomes including biomarkers; patient-oriented and implementation research)
- Applying for scholarship/funding opportunities
- Supporting/leading grant writing opportunities for research projects
- Leading and collaborating on manuscripts for publications (e.g. review articles, original research)
Supporting data collection and analysis of your own project and, when needed, assisting with training and helping junior trainees with these tasksPursue ongoing training and networking opportunities (e.g. conferences, advanced training opportunities, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in psychology, community health, nursing, medical sciences or other related field
- PhD must be completed before the start of the appointment
- PhD must have been completed within the past 7 years
- Demonstrated track record of publications, mentoring/teaching, research leadership, and some award funding
- Previous experience in psycho-oncology, integrative oncology, biomarkers, patient-oriented research and/or implementation science is an asset
- Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis methodologies
