We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scientist to join our dynamic team at the Lilly Biotechnology Center in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will play a key role in our antibody-enabled membrane protein discovery projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on groundbreaking research and contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong background in antibody technology and membrane protein biology such as GPCRs.
  • Experience in protein engineering and characterization.
  • Experience with techniques such as protein expression, purification, and characterization.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCES:

  • Experience with display technologies (e.g., phage display, yeast display, or mammalian display).
  • Experience with flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience of cell-based assay for GPCR targets.
  • The successful candidate must be available to start latest by January 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments to discover and engineer antibodies to biologically relevant conformations of membrane proteins.
  • Develop and optimize novel protocols for antibody generation, screening, and validation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into broader research projects.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data and present findings at internal and external meetings.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
