A global centre-of-excellence, it integrates Cardiac Physiology and Transplantation, Developmental and Stem Cell Biology, Molecular Cardiology and Biophysics, Structural and Computational Biology, as well as Vascular Biology. At the Institute, we translate our discoveries into new diagnostics, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease - reducing the incidence, severity, and impact of heart disease.
Responsibilities:
You’ll work in a close collaboration with the Mechanobiology and Developmental & Regenerative Biology Labs, focusing on cellular and molecular mechanisms of heart disease and repair. Your key area will involve cardiac fibroblasts’ roles in heart processes, emphasizing mechano-sensing pathways through Piezo1 and Piezo2. You will use novel technologies and animal models to explore therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular diseases, utilizing advanced cell biology and biophysical techniques, high-resolution microscopy, flow cytometry/FACS, mouse genetic models, gene modification tools, and single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.
