Are you an experienced Power BI Developer? Do you want to play a key role in fuelling our ambition to become the number one mid-market ‘tech and data led’ accountancy firm, redefining the technology standards for our industry? Interested in pushing your career to the next level at one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For?
Cooper Parry growth is booming and we are looking to bring a new Power BI Developer into the team to help push us forward in all things data.
This is a brand-new role starting ASAP on a temporary to permanent contract in our rapidly expanding Data & Analytics Team!

ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY…

As a Power BI Developer, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the wider tech space, to deliver insights and surface data in new and innovative ways to further enhance our customer value proposition.

You’ll be getting stuck into a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including;

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with internal teams to gather requirements and understand business objectives
  • Analysing and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Optimising data models and queries for performance and efficiency
  • Identifying, gathering and analysing data… translating it into easy-to-understand charts, tables and reports to showcase the benefit of accurate data and insight
  • Working with different areas of the business to understand their reporting needs
  • Keeping up to date on the latest Power BI developments, features and best practices

So, if you are a skilled Power BI Developer looking to make a meaningful impact in the world of accountancy, this is the role for you!
About you…:
At Cooper Parry, we’re in it together. All we ask of our people is that they play all in. You’ll continuously strive to keep learning – whether you’re a trainee or a Partner – and you’ll be brave, stepping out of your comfort zone to tackle new challenges. Above all, be nice. A simple notion, but an irreplaceable part of what makes CP, CP.
In addition to those core values, we are looking for a Power BI Developer with a strong background in data analysis and visualization, with a focus on creating insightful and actionable reports for our internal users and clients.

With that in mind, you will need to be able to proactively engage and manage relationships with stakeholders and peers with a passion and enthusiasm for customer satisfaction. You will also need…

  • Experience of Microsoft Dataverse, Azure Data Factory, Power Query and / or equivalent SQL / ETL tools and technologies
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and other data manipulation languages
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

About us…:
We’ve been dubbed ‘the rebels of accountancy’. So, we don’t give run-of-the-mill advice.
We’re straight-talking. Never afraid to share our opinions. We put people and relationships before products and services, and deliver a streamlined, client-focused service – free from unnecessary red tape.
That’s how we’ve become the fastest-growing accountancy firm in the UK, and we’ve never been the type to rest on our laurels.

Over the last couple of years alone, we’ve achieved some fantastic feats:

  • Partnered with Waterland Private Equity in July 2022, and are now on a lightning-fast growth journey
  • Ranked No.1 in the Accountancy Age Mid-Tier Power Index in 2022
  • Best Companies’ No.1 Accountancy Firm & No.30 Best Large Company to Work For in the UK
  • Became B Corp Certified in 2023 and we’re still the UK’s largest accountancy B Corp, measuring and improving our impact beyond business for a brighter tomorrow
  • Came No.3 overall at the Inspiring Workplace Awards in 2024, against all businesses of all sizes in the UK and Ireland. We were recognised as “Best-in-class” for Inspiring Culture and Purpose, Wellbeing, Employee Voice and Employee Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborating with internal teams to gather requirements and understand business objectives
  • Analysing and interpreting data to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Optimising data models and queries for performance and efficiency
  • Identifying, gathering and analysing data… translating it into easy-to-understand charts, tables and reports to showcase the benefit of accurate data and insight
  • Working with different areas of the business to understand their reporting needs
  • Keeping up to date on the latest Power BI developments, features and best practice
