Job Description:
Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Hardware Architect/Expert. This position is within Center of Excellence (CoE) in CTO North America Organization and is responsible to provide Power Electronics Hardware expertise to wider organization.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:

The position requires a certain autonomy with a leading spirit to work in advanced research topics where the critical thinking is a key success factor. These soft skills are important in addition to the required expertise in one or multiple electrical fields:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering with a Power Electronics emphasis is preferred.
  • Expertise in power electronics, different topologies, and design with at least 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Experience in designing power conversion systems in LV and MV environments.
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink for power electronics circuit design.
  • Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations.

    The U.S. Compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is between $136,000 - $190,000 for candidates located within the U.S. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

You will work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. You will drive and manage the studies and investigations within the streams and projects with a global mandate. You will be very active with external partners and will drive innovation with Labs and Consortiums.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively contributes to Technical Excellence and Influences the technical direction on Power Electronics Hardware in anticipation of offer creation and also influences bricks, platforms or methods across the organization
  • Leads or contributes to system design, component selection, circuit design
  • Employs simulation tools to model and analyze circuits for various performance criteria. Supports testing/validation efforts as necessary.
  • Works closely with cross-functional team of product owners, control/firmware engineers and electro-mechanical engineers to ensure overall system approach
