Description:
Power Generation/Aircraft Arresting System Technician at Al-Jabar Air Base, Kuwait. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of power generation and aircraft arresting systems, supporting critical aircraft takeoff and landing operations. With a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $100,000, this position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MAAS/BAK-12 Factory Trained & Certified.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. Citizenship with a current, valid U.S. Passport and Driver’s License (manual transmission capability required).
- Valid U.S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
- Capability of obtaining an Air Force flight line driver’s license and passing a flight line access test.
- Ability to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements, including psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, and background checks.
- Successful completion of online and hands-on CBRN defense training, including fit testing of DOD-provided protective gear.
- Four years of experience in operation and maintenance of BAK-12 aircraft arresting systems, with completed factory training on Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS)/BAK-12.
- Three years of experience operating and maintaining prime power spot and backup generators.
- Ability to give and receive instructions.
- Fluency in reading and speaking English.
- Relevant overseas experience and work on Air Force installations (preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (preferred).
- Willingness to work extended hours to meet mission requirements (preferred).
- Military experience in contingency environments and knowledge of government contracts (preferred).
- Knowledge of electronics and electricity principles, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization (preferred).

Responsibilities:
- Install, remove, and operate electrical power generating/control systems, automatic transfer switches, aircraft arresting systems, and associated equipment.
- Inspect equipment for serviceability and compliance with standards.
- Maintain, modify, and repair power generating/control systems and aircraft arresting systems.
- Perform inspections, troubleshoot malfunctions, and replace defective components.
- Conduct corrosion control and inspect/replace gauges and meters.
- Maintain operation, inspection, and maintenance records.
- Record meter readings, fuel consumption, and performance data.
- Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, orderly, and safe.
- Perform quality, safety, and self-inspections.
- Properly utilize and safeguard all government and contractor-provided property.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
