WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
Our electrical maintenance& project teams are actively seeking a Technician with expertise in High Voltage systems to join their ranks. To thrive in this role, candidates should possess some of the following skills:
- Experienced in high-voltage zone substations
- Holds a current NZ Electrical practicing license
- Possesses NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Power Technician (Level 5) or equivalent
- Proficient with HV equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, and relays
- Holds a clean NZ Class 1 driver’s license
- Demonstrates teamwork and initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As a Power Technician, you will oversee high-voltage substation projects with a focus on safety and efficiency, you will be responsible to provide ongoing technical support and completion of Substation & Network projects. Performing maintenance and fault response to crucial transmission & distribution assets like protection relays, power transformers and circuit breakers. Your technical insights will contribute to maintenance and capital project estimations. This role will report to the Technician Group Lead and will be based in Hamilton.
Key responsibilities for the Power Technician position include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out prescribed electrical work according to regulations
- Inspecting, fault finding and defect elimination on HV and LV electrical equipment
- Accurate record-keeping and reporting of the works undertaken
- Identify potential issues and provide effective solutions to recover from setbacks
- Conduct job scoping and planning with accuracy
- Assist with repair and maintenance activities and identify potential problems and solutions to recover from any setbacks
