Optiver is seeking an experienced Power Trader to lead and assist the build out of a new desk focussed on trading the Australian Power markets. This is a true greenfield site opportunity with strong financial backing and the potential to have significant impact in the firm. Responsibilities:
- Set up an Australian power trading operation in ASX listed Futures and Options
- Build trading strategies in the Australian power markets
- Build or guide the development of models and other analytics
- Work with other departments to build adequate risk management frameworks
- Collaborate with existing trading desks to leverage Optiver knowledge and infrastructure
- Help hire the right talent to expand the team: traders, analysts, researchers
- Train junior traders that join the desk
