The Powertrain Module in Vestas Power Solutions is responsible for developing the complete Vestas powertrain for both onshore and offshore wind turbines. The module consists of 3 submodules, Lubrication & MBA (Main Bearing Arrangement), Gearbox, and Generator. The Lubrication & MBA submodule is responsible and accountable for the design solutions of (i) the powertrain lubrication system, (ii) the main bearings, and (iii) the structural components.
The Lubrication & MBA submodule team is located in four hubs, Aarhus in Denmark, Porto in Portugal, Dortmund in Germany and Chennai, India. This position is for the Lubrication System development team located in Porto. You will contribute to developing an ever-growing and high-paced team in a global environment. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min. 3 years of experience in a relevant industry
  • BSc. degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering• You have industry experience within R&D of large lubrication or hydraulic systems
  • Good technical understanding
  • Specific work experience within the wind industry is beneficial but not required
  • Enthusiastic about practical work on tests and verification as well as theoretical knowledge
  • Fluency in English
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Identify - Design - Optimize - Validate
  • Lead and implement system/component design work within the project scope• Design and specified components like pumps, tanks, manifolds, heat exchangers, filters, pipes, and fittings for different operating modes
  • Ensure that the technical scope is fully specified and developed, integrates technically with the value chain, and is within the quality, time, and cost targets of the project
  • Responsible for system/component level documentation
  • Represent this system/component towards other systems, components, and product level
  • Identifying, documenting, communicating, and mitigating technical risks within the project’s technical scope
  • Cost-Optimize the Lubrication System using dedicated tools and following Vesta’s development process Way to Market
  • Plan the technical activities following the Vestas stage-gate model with the project manager.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, in collaboration with international suppliers to provide optimum solutions
  • Deliver the complete verification and validation documentation of the full Lubrication System, including certification
  • Define and participate in testing campaigns
  • Propel VA/VE activities to optimize owned components to product cost to required performances
  • Contribute to the Technology Roadmap to ensure the submodule growth in line with market development
  • Monitor and contribute to improving the fleet performance of the Lubrication Systems over the value chain
