Our client is a leading global investment platform. They are hiring PR Lead to help support their growing UK retail / direct to consumer business. They are looking for someone with a strong ‘personal finance’ PR and communications background.
Key responsibilities include:
- To protect and promote our client’s brand and reputation as a leader in retail investing by anticipating crisis management situations and identifying opportunities that will enhance the firm’s corporate profile.
- To establish and maintain a contact programme with key ‘personal finance’ journalists and thought opinion leaders. Find ways to develop strong relationships with them, whether by organising media events or calls, with the objective to raise our client’s profile
- To draft press releases, articles, commentaries, social media posts and other PR and communications documents to the highest standard and with a creative flair. Proofread all written materials to ensure that excellent written communication is achieved.
- Work with key stakeholders to help identify opportunities and create engaging content for dissemination through external media channels. Carry out research on topics and gather information from a wide range of internal and external sources to identify news stories and news angles.
- Help with day to day management PR agencies. Manage media enquiries including the supply of standard communication content and/or escalate enquiries with the team and stakeholders as appropriate. Host media interviews and brief spokespeople in advance, and help select and coach media spokespeople.
- To monitor media coverage daily, and manage reporting on a weekly, quarterly and half of year basis.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a team player, possess proven media relations experience gained in the retail investing or personal finance industry (either in-house or agency), the ability to handle highly sensitive issues with journalists, excellent writing/editing and stakeholder management skills and the ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet deadlines in a commercial and fast paced environment.
