The A Side: A Day in The Life
The Audience and Media Division will revolutionise how Universal delivers for our artists and become a new centre of excellence at Universal Music UK.
The Media Division is a creative hub of ‘best in class’ executives from across the industry, representing all areas of promotion. From PR, TV, podcasts, radio, social media, digital channels and influencer culture, we holistically create bespoke, fully integrated media campaigns for our artists not established or new.
The PR Manager will be working in a very creative, vibrant department where no one day is the same. This role will play a crucial part of the team, taking the lead on artists PR campaigns from the start of their journey to stadium level status.
Exploring not only traditional PR but also digital, social and creative PR opportunities within new media, the key is to represent our artists authentically. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for innovative PR strategies with unrivalled media relations.
The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Operational

  • Working in conjunction with the Head of PR to formulate PR strategies for UMUK’s artists.
  • Seeking out, pitching and securing PR looks for artists at all different stages of their trajectory.
  • Facilitating, scheduling and covering all promo with the artist and their teams.
  • Managing post-production process of approvals, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with PR titles and artists publicists where relevant.
  • Liaising and maintaining a strong relationship with artists, management, and associated teams.
  • To constantly liaise with the Head of PR on all ideas, feedback, activity, results etc

Be Organised

  • Attending internal and external meetings and updating the label or external partners on up-to-date PR plans.
  • Managing promo budgets alongside the Head of PR where relevant.
  • Responsible for inviting and hosting PR contacts to media/guests to concerts, gigs, showcases and events.
  • Organising all stages of PR promotion from booking, scheduling and covering in a logical and efficient fashion.
  • Co-ordinating all booked media opportunities with artist teams, the rest of the media division and internal digital marketing teams to ensure coverage of each piece of promo is optimised.

    Be Creative

  • Spotting trends and generating original, exciting PR strategies for UMUK artists and their music.

  • Contributing and delivering innovative ideas of ways to infiltrate modern media as an artist.



Person Specification

  • Experience of PR Management within music – labels or external PR companies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with a proven and established network across all corners of PR.
  • Equipped to effectively work alongside new artists to Global artists.
  • Excellent organisational and project / campaign skills.
  • Work well under pressure at all times – both alone and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about music and popular culture.
  • Trustworthy and tenacious.
