FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health Studies team at our Edmonton and Wetaskiwin campuses as Instructors in our Practical Nurse program. This is a term instructor role.
Graduates of NorQuest College’s Practical Nurse program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students prepare for their clinical experiences with theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, and we are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs. We utilize low and high-fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.

AS A DIFFERENCE MAKER YOU BRING:

  • A Police Information check with Vulnerable Sectors check within the last thirty days.
  • Up to date immunization records including COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to teach individuals at different skill levels.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an interactive learning environment with skill practice and be able to apply the basic principles and practices of adult education.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance through various academic methods.
  • Advanced skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Ability to develop different classroom strategies to keep learners engaged.
  • Strong oral communication and writing skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Knowledge and application of equity, diversity, and inclusion in practice.
  • Passionate about Nursing and teaching technical skills to individuals interested in joining the Health Care industry.
    SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. We are looking for a permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
    This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined.
