Job Title: Practice Coordinator
General Summary: A medical office position responsible for coordinating and managing all processes of the front office.
Responsibilities:
Adheres to and supports NovantHealth’s mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Adheres to HIPAA Compliance and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Demonstrates support for the Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures that affect specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timelyand appropriate manner.
Greeting patients entering the practice.
Answering office phones and scheduling appointments.
Checking in patients, collecting accuratepatient demographics, entering data into the electronic system, and verifying insurance.
Assistingwith patient check-out, referral processing, and scheduling.
Collecting co-pays and posting charges.
Managing the physician’s schedule, business-related appointments, and other basic office tasks.
Coordinating daily operations of the practice, including medical records management, patient and physician scheduling, front desk control, accounts payable, appointment confirmations, office supplies, and insurance verification.
Charge entry and patient balance processing.
Monitoring and auditing cash/payment funds.
Daily reconciliation of charges and payments.
Performing additionalresponsibilities as needed.
Education: High school diploma/GED required; completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
Certification: Prefer healthcare management/administration certification.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a medical office setting.
