Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Directorate and facilitate the development of the Children, Young People & Families (CYPF) multi-disciplinary workforce, determining and delivering an inclusive learning and development strategy and programme for CYPF staff. This role will provide role modelling, leadership, practice development and oversight of practice along with development support for the CYPF workforce. This role seeks to enhance the experience of staff and students, support professional skills development and safety of the multi-disciplinary workforce across CYPF
The post holder will support the Directorate by providing specialised, expert advice, education and clinical expertise in order to improve the staff and therefore patient experience.
The post holder will work flexibly across all internal and external sites as required and liaise closely with the Learning and Organisational Development team to ensure alignment to Trust learning strategy and delivery.
The post holder will be responsible for implementing and contributing to the development of evidence -based policies, procedures and practices and to standards in the practice environment through the application of specialist knowledge.

  • To report to, and work closely with, the Professional Leads as the senior role models and leaders
  • To lead in the development and advancement of clinical and nursing practice across CYPF
  • To lead on developing practice standards to ensure evidenced based best practice is driving effective clinical productivity and quality outcomes for patient care.
  • To provide advice and practice guidance, and the development of professional practice
  • To act as a link between CYPF, CPFT and external partners in developing practice, pathways, and services
  • To work closely with professional and team leads on the development of improvement plans, using best practice evidence and in the context of wider system transformation
  • To act as a clinical expert and provide a patient focus for improving the patient experience
  • To lead on on-going professional and practice development
  • Using PSIRF methodology, support the Directorate with the investigation of incidents and complaints
  • To ensure recommendations on actions are made and support implementation of improvements, where indicated, using the PDSA cycle.
  • Use Trust-recognised quality improvement methodology to enable innovation and continuously review and evaluate training to ensure it meets the needs of staff and CYPF.
  • To work within the CYPF clinical governance structure to ensure learning and quality improvement within the workforce are embedded.
  • To ensure day to day practice reflects the highest standards of governance, clinical effectiveness, safety and patient experience
