Practice Lead, Corporate Solutions– Hybrid
The Opportunity

Do you have experience with Workday, ServiceNow, Intelex, or similar platforms? Do you enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders and vendors to deliver innovative solutions and continuous improvement? If so, you might be the ideal candidate for the Practice Lead, Corporate Solutions role at AER.
As the Practice Lead, Corporate Solutions, you will be responsible for the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of AER’s corporate solutions including HR, Finance, Health and Safety and ITSM systems. You will bring strategic and operational knowledge of these systems, with a primary focus on leading governance, road-mapping exercises, cross-functional resource planning and guiding day-to-day technical support and incident management while balancing strategic enhancements and projects. You will also be a strong consultative partner to business and functional leaders to continuously improve service delivery. This includes evaluating the feasibility of system modification and enhancement as well as driving deployment of future releases and system maintenance. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders on day-to-day activities, security, governance, compliance, and vendor management.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization, including Finance, People Culture & Learning (HR), Information Management Technology (IMT), Health and Safety, and senior leadership to understand needs, address challenges, evaluate solutions and align technical support activities.
  • Work with stakeholders, vendors, and business units to identify effective approaches for sustainment and continual improvement of the corporate solutions program and processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services ensuring maximum value in product and services investment.
  • Influence and guide stakeholders on policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop incident management processes and conduct investigation to understand root causes for issue resolution.
  • Provide unique and novel solutions to problems while adhering to ITSM change control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance to various technical support teams on a day-to-day basis, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead system design for scalability, architecture and security.
  • Participate in security assessments to protect systems and data.
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic plans and roadmaps for the ERP platform, identifying opportunities for enhancements, upgrades and optimizations over multiple years.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of technical support processes, troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with team members and stakeholders communicating complex information in a manner that is easily absorbed.
  • Regularly monitor system health, implementing preventive measures and proactive solutions for optimal functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for platform enhancements and optimizations.
  • Drive deployment of system releases and maintenance.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Commerce, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience related to implementation and management of corporate systems including things like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), IT Service Management (ITSM) and health and safety systems.
  • Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, Intelex is an asset. Experience specifically in HR and Finance is also an asset.
  • Workday certifications are preferred. IT Infrastructure Library (ITIIL) certification is an asset. Service Now certification is an asset.
  • Excellent relationship building skills and customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with different stakeholders who have varying degrees of technical background.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery lifecycle and working experience with tools such as ServiceNow and DevOps.
  • Ability to think strategically and operationally, with experience influencing and leading strategic decisions and projects.
  • Strong track record of project planning, prioritization of workload for a team, risk monitoring and mitigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong experience working with external vendors developing statements of work, ensuring value delivery, measurement and monitoring performance.
