Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the leadership of the Chief of Surgery, this position provides real time support to facilitate outreach for BSA surgeons to potential referring providers sharing information and building a referral database; bridges the gap of communication between providers, develops a strategic referral marketing plan, streamlines patient referrals, tracks and measures marketing data and reports, expands the Department’s healthcare network, and increase overall revenue for the Department of Surgery.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field, business administration, or public administration is required, graduate degree preferred.
  • Five years upper management level experience within a sizeable physician practice group; experience with hospital-based physician groups and/or surgical practice is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in clinical practice protocols, organizational development, personnel management, project implementation, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated track record in working effectively with physicians on matters related to practice management, resource utilization, joint ventures, and program development.
  • Five years upper management level experience within a sizeable physician practice group; experience with hospital-based physician groups and/or surgical practice is a plus.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, particularly Epic.
  • Implementation of new programs or processes.
  • Ability to communicate transparently provides clarity and shows respect when delivering unpopular or difficult information.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and integrate priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with leadership team.
  • Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.

  • Involves frequent contact with physicians and staff on all levels. Tasks are normally performed in a typical office setting. Some tasks will be completed sitting at a desk, using a computer. Mobility is required to attend meetings and give presentations. The ability to travel to various locations in the state, typically via automobile required.

Responsibilities:

  • Visits local referring physicians and medical practices with the goal of building beneficial referral relationships.
  • Works with medical practices and healthcare system physicians to create effective physician referral marketing plans.
  • Must be well versed in Marketing campaigns and should be social media savvy.
  • Schedules physician relations meetings between providers and healthcare professionals.
  • Distributes the medical practice marketing collateral and patient referral materials.
  • Develops practice liaison marketing reports including tracking visits and measuring ROI.
  • Educates referring medical practices on the capabilities of the practice, how they can streamline the referral process, and provide top-quality care for surgery patients.
  • The Practice Liaison acts as an intermediary between BSA and referring providers to bring about the most effective healthcare treatment and experience.
  • Enhance operational effectiveness and high-quality patient care.
  • Maintains effective communications and provides updated information to the Board.
  • Establishes best practices for efficient clinical operations and contribute realistic expectations of what success looks like to physicians, clinical staff, and others.
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the organization.
