Position Title: Practice Manager
Location: Coastal Carolina Hospital (Hardeeville, SC) and Hilton Head Hospital (Hilton Head Island, SC)
Reporting To: Market Operations Manager, Hilton Head Regional Physician Network

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospitalist Group Manager to oversee the management and operational excellence of the Hospitalist Group at both Coastal Carolina and Hilton Head Hospitals. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operation across both sites. The manager will lead a team of at least 10 full-time hospitalists, along with part-time and locum tenens providers.

  • Proven experience in managing healthcare provider teams, preferably within hospitalist or similar settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of fostering effective team collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation, charge entry processes, and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Coverage & Scheduling: Ensure comprehensive provider coverage for all shifts and communicate coverage schedules effectively with the hospital medical staff department.
  • Clinical Documentation & Efficiency: Promote timely completion of clinical documentation, encourage efficient charge entry by providers, and facilitate swift claim creation by practice staff. Verify that the practice has the necessary tools for accurate patient demographics and insurance verification.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and support direct reports to work cohesively across sites, approach work from a system-wide perspective, and cultivate strong, collegial relationships among staff, providers, hospital medical staff, and network stakeholders.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a key liaison between hospitalist providers and the physician group market operations, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with the Hospitalist Medical Director to drive clinical performance improvements, aligning efforts with hospital and physician group objectives.
  • Quality & Compliance: Consult with hospital leadership to enhance program quality, ensuring adherence to CMS and Joint Commission guidelines as applicable.
