OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
FIS APAC Solution Engineering Team is an established and growing practice with Developers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, and Cloud Engineers. FIS is looking for a Development Lead / Solution Engineering Manager to line manage the Developer team.
The role will report to the FIS APAC Solution Engineering Practice Manager. Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Regional and Global development teams to ensure that our solutions are not only feasible but also scalable and align with our overall business goals. The role will suit an experienced Development Technical lead that is ready to take the next step to becoming a people manager with a regional remit.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Manage a team of Solution Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development support.
- Lead the transformation of the development team from J2EE based framework to an Akka CQR/Event Sourcing based framework.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in solution engineering and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions. Ensuring quality starts in the development cycle.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to contribute insights and recommendations based on technical expertise.
- Works closely with the Solution Engineering Practice Manager to help define and implement group processes and way of working.
- Forecasts resource needs and identify and allocate technical resources to FIS product development and client projects.
- Maximizes both utilization and revenue of assigned teams’ billable time.
- Manages work efforts and performance of subordinates with responsibility for hiring, performance appraisals and remuneration reviews.
- Lead the design and presentation of technical solutions to Clients, ensuring alignment with their business objectives. Serves as subject matter expert and provides input into strategic direction of the group, product, and project direction.
- Partner with Regional development teams to ensure technical feasibility and to incorporate client feedback into product development.
- Partner with the Quality Assurance Practice Manager to embed test automation into the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Collaborates with Solution Engineering leads across the globe including EMEA and the Americas.
- Ensures the team deliveries high quality code that meets security and risk standards and regulatory compliance.
- Identify training / coaching needs and elevate the average competency of the broader team.
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
