Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time or Part Time Veterinary Practice Manager to join our team at Essendon vet Clinic. Essendon Vet clinic is situated 8kms north-west of Melbourne CBD. The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-level patient care, alongside the ability to develop great working relationships.
At Essendon vet Clinic, we aim to provide a comprehensive, professional, and compassionate veterinary service. We’re a tight knit team who recognise the significance of pets and the place they hold in a family. Our aim is to provide a friendly work environment with an emphasis on high standards of care and continuing education.
You will be supported by a team of highly trained and enthusiastic nurses and reception staff, an amazing vet team and a good clientele with interesting cases. This role as full time would include nursing or reception shifts.

Responsibilities:
- People and Operational Leadership
- Lead the Clinic Team in partnership with the Lead Vet and if applicable by advocating for our VetPartners core values and encouraging a positive culture of accountability, empathy, and openness.
- Manage recruitment in partnership with the Lead Vet, Regional Manager, Head Nurse, and recruitment team.
- Supports Team members through development and retention by providing regular and timely feedback, implementing, and monitoring career development plans, and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of VetPartners Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures and ensures these practices are embedded within the clinic.
- Clinic Performance and Driving Sustainability
- Actively champions clinic budgeting and strategic planning with Regional Manager and Lead Vet
- Demonstrate balanced decision making with consideration of both clinical and commercial outcomes.
- Client Experience
- Drives a customer-focused culture and demonstrates and reinforces the highest level of customer service with all team members.
- Effectively communicate and consult with clients, vets, and team members on all enquiries, including complaints, grief support, reminders, and procedure follow-ups.
