About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Practitioner Project Manager to join our Hunter Class Program based at Osborne, reporting to the Program Performance Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager to ensure that the technical, cost and schedule goals associated with assigned projects are achieved in accordance with the contractual and company requirements in order to deliver required business goals. The role may also be responsible (with support from the Project Manager) for the planning and delivery of straightforward, small projects or a collection of discrete tasks with defined scope and sufficient scale to require the application of Project Management (PM) within the cost, schedule and quality constraints while managing risk and opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • The Practitioner Project Manager is accountable to the Project Manager for the support and co-ordination of project management activities and the planning and delivery of straightforward, small projects or collection of discrete tasks with defined scope and of sufficient scale to require the application of project management disciplines with support from the Project Manager
  • Delivery of works following project management policies and processes in line with BAE Systems Australia’s Operational Framework
  • Track and report progress and forecast final targets for cost and schedule
  • Document and track changes in project parameters, obstacles and delays and implement appropriate mitigations
  • Identifying and recommending Value for Money (VFM) initiatives that improve project outcomes for the company and customers
  • Providing input to formal monthly reporting to the Program Manager on project status and any issues

About YOU

  • Skills in producing reports, documentation and presentations to highlight trends & opportunities
  • Enjoy working in a complex and time sensitive work environment
  • Experience using Tableau or similar BI Software (desirable)
  • The ability to build relationships, not afraid to questions with an inquisitive mindset
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain Baseline clearance
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
