JOB SUMMARY

CIMT College is looking for someone to teach the Pre Med program. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate would be required to follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures.
Courseware, resources, evaluations, and daily lesson plans are provided in an Instructor Manual. The Instructor is responsible for following the provided instructor manuals and using the resource materials to train students with the required knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment in the field.
CIMT College places a premium on professional conduct, combined with excellence in classroom instruction, with primary emphasis on hands-on training.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles
  • Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model
  • Online teaching (training provided, but computer skills are essential)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have 48 months of work experience in the vocation OR
  • Have 36 months of teaching experience in the vocation and 24 months of work experience in the vocation OR
  • Have 24 months of work experience in the vocation AND
    o Hold a Bachelor degree from a Canadian university or an equivalent degree
    o Graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent

    o Graduate of a registered PCC or equivalent

  • Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Private Career Colleges Act, 2005

  • Must be available to teach online as per the accepted schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Create lesson plans and teaching material to deliver courses to Pre-Med students
  • Delivery of classes as per schedule and meeting outcomes desired for successful completion of program
  • Assisting students with their learning needs
  • Marking tests, assignments and exams for the course and providing feedback to students
  • Maintaining class decorum and ensuring positive learning environment in the class
  • Providing guidance to students on the program, its related areas and higher education opportunities
  • Answering queries related to program by prospective students or potential clients
  • Input data into computerized databases for student attendance and scores
  • Ensure feedback by students after course delivery to enhance satisfaction
  • Any additional task assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
