Description:
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals to join our team as an experienced administrator.
The ideal candidate needs to be computer literate (training of the hospital systems will be given), confident in dealing with patients and the general public and flexible to meet the demands of a busy Assessment Unit.
Clerical skills are essential and you will be required to provide a professional administration service to the unit including booking in patients, maintaining patient records, filing, arranging for clinic appointments, answering telephone enquiries, data entry onto the hospital computer system and other administrative tasks.

Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Maintaining clinic management and slot utilisation to ensure that a high level of customer service for all users of POA, both internal and external is maintained.
Cover any sickness and annual leave to ensure continuity of service within POA booking and Reception provision completing any admin tasks aligned to these roles.
Answer any incoming calls in a professional and timely manner in line with Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
To monitor and co-ordinate the work and performance of clerical officers / reception staff within the team in the absence of the POA manager.
To assist in the training and development of POA clerical staff and contribute to the training of other relevant staff groups.
To positively contribute to and support the team, assisting with the implementation of new systems and future developments.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
