Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Pre Sales Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. You will provide consistently high quality and accurate indication of terms to advisers in relation to pre-application underwriting enquiries. Working closely with Underwriters and Business Development Managers to ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicating with internal, external customers and third parties in a professional and efficient manner ensuring customer satisfaction is maximised and expectations met by obtaining and giving the correct information
  • Taking ownership and maintaining a strong knowledge and understanding of our products and legislative / regulatory requirements
  • Managing time effectively, balancing business requirements with personal development
  • Supporting sales and APE generation through effective and tactful questioning to obtain market intelligence information and generation on leads to BDM via Salesforce
  • Challenging existing work practices by understanding Underwriting’s end to end processes and customer expectations in an appropriate way. Identifying and taking steps to improve service through liaising with team managers or other colleagues and recording accurate Management Information
  • In line with Treating Customers Fairly, understand the commitments that are made about the level of service during the marketing and sales processes to ensure the area can meet those expectations

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Relevant experience in accurately following pre-sale underwriting flows
  • An understanding of relationships between an insurance company & their partner.
  • Knowledge of Insurance products and policy conditions
  • Good understanding of financial calculations to support pre-sale underwriting limits / philosophies
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit the audience.
  • Excellent call listening & telephony skills
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in following flows and providing correct terms
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems
