As a Pre-Sales Consultant (Senior Associate) specialising in Early Stage Procurement, you will be responsible the first pass qualification of new opportunities for Kainos Services.
You will be accountable for building relevant stakeholder relationships within the sales team, capabilities, account teams, senior delivery staff and commercial teams. You will proactively develop and maintain a good understanding of the products and services that Kainos offers and continually seek innovative ways to improve productivity, enhancement of relevant collateral and procurement success rates.
You will operate in a sales-focused role, requiring a combination of management, analytical skills, authoring skills, industry knowledge and an understanding of the issues within the Business Development process.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Pre-sales Inbox - ensuring all inquiries are promptly reviewed, prioritised, and assigned to the appropriate team members
  • Tracking - monitoring procurement portals and Pre-sales inbox, downloading tender documents and managing communications between the business and the prospective client.
  • Identification - managing the identification of tender opportunities and new frameworks for Kainos across public, private and healthcare sectors
  • Productivity - driving the development of the first pass qualification process, ensuring adherence to formal procedures, owning and driving Improvement Process initiatives
  • Stakeholder management - proactively maintaining close links with Capabilities, Practices and Sectors to understand offerings and share relevant market trends. Liaising regularly with Business Development and Practice stakeholders to identify pipeline tender opportunities to help forecast presales demand
  • Contributing – inputting into early stage procurements, including Evidence, RFIs, PQQs, Company Info, Company surveys etc
  • Maintaining – maintaining the Pre-sales Portal, including the opportunity register, creation of bid sites, centralising collateral etc.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant commercial environment with broad IT experience and a sound awareness of technology and business trends and their potential impact on future sales opportunities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound understanding of successful sales and Pre-sales dynamics.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly capable of multi-tasking and prioritising tasks with the ability to work under pressure and deliver to regular tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude to overcoming the commercial, technical and staffing challenges facing Kainos and clients.
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated and proactive with respect to personal development.
  • A person who is affable, credible and enthusiastic who pride themselves on delivering high quality work.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of procurements through Government Frameworks, including Digital Outcomes and Specialists, and G-Cloud.
  • A proven ability to manage and motivate team members and lead by example
  • A demonstrated ability in managing, mentoring and coaching members of your team and wider community
