SUMMARY:
Goldbelt Apex LLC is looking for an experienced Preclinical Laboratory Researcher for a potential five (5) year contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and writing detailed specifications for analysis, managing data, and producing analyses, data tables, and figures. They will also communicate statistical analyses and data issues with the Principal Investigator, study staff, collaborators, and clients. Additionally, the Supervisor Statistician will direct duties and assign tasks to work unit statisticians and data support personnel, interpret analyses, write statistical sections of study reports, and design and conduct all aspects of research while providing scientific input into the research process in low-level blast environment characterization.
Responsibilities:
NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficiency in developing and executing research proposals and protocols, including navigating the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Human Use Review Committee (HURC) processes.
- Expertise in conducting literature reviews and summarizing scientific literature.
- Advanced skills in assessing physiological and neurosensory functions, performing surgical procedures, and employing aseptic techniques. Ability to evaluate neuroprotective pharmacological therapies using various outcome measures.
- Proficiency in quantitative analytical techniques such as immunohistochemistry, proteomics, lipidomics, PCR, Western blot, and ELISA.
- In-depth knowledge of traumatic brain injury and polytrauma.
- Ability to provide guidance and develop new technical methods for neuroscience and injury research.
- Strong data management and statistical analysis skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with research staff and collaborators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- D. in a relevant field such as neuroscience, biology, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of postdoctoral experience in preclinical research, particularly in areas related to traumatic brain injury (TBI), polytrauma, and neuroscience.
- Experience coordinating research projects, including designing experiments and directing research staff.
- Experience preparing tissue for light microscopy and using relevant software applications for data analysis.
- US Citizen - Must be able to obtain HSPD-12 clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in blast research setting actively involved in study design, or equivalent experience a plus.
- Military experience is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $125,000.00-$145, 000.00 annually.
