OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY

Preps all records in the manner and order required, and scans all records into the optical Imaging System. Forwards all scanned documents to the QC/Indexing area.

Responsibilities:

Health Information Services (H.I.S)

  • Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
  • Removes all cold documents from the paper record.
  • Prepares all documents in reverse chronological order.
  • Photocopies all damaged documents.
  • Removes photographs and inserts appropriate form in record to be scanned. Files photograph according to department procedure.
  • Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
  • Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Kodak scanner.
  • Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
  • Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
  • Cleans scanner on a biweekly basis.

Customer Service

  • Prepares all documents by removing staples, clips and sticky notes, perforating, copying, etc.
  • Photocopies all damaged documents.
  • Identifies correct patient encounter information from MPI and applies to documents scanned.
  • Enters standard note codes in STAR Financials to identify the type of correspondence received.
  • Scans all documents into the Optical Imaging System via the Bell & Howell scanner.
  • Assigns appropriate batch names in DCS to ensure proper identification of documents for review by QCI Technicians.
  • Distributes finished documents to QCI area.
  • Cleans scanner on a daily basis.
