Prepress Specialist

REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical experience in flexo print and a graphic environment.
• Proficient with Esko workflows.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software programs.
• In depth knowledge of Colour Management for Flexography including the press testing and measuring process.
• Ability to create and adjust proofing profiles and print curves for plates.
• Ability to apply good time management and multitasking skills in executing projects.
• Experience in flexography and packaging industry a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An entrepreneurial spirit with a strong desire to succeed while getting real satisfaction from helping others reach their goals.
• 5 years or more of experience in Prepress and workflows for Flexography
• 5 years or more of experience in Mac OS hardware and software.
• A positive attitude, enthusiasm, confidence and strong presentation & people skills

• Mentor prepress staff on project execution, and implementation of workflow improvements.
• Set up workflows for Graphic and Plate tasks as required - project workflow and plate making process, including quality control.
• Establish Plate curves, press profiles and standard print conditions to support Operations.
• Follow up and monitor press profile against production results.
• Manage storage of plate files and ensure files are named in a standardized manner
• Conduct prepress activities and projects as required
• Maintain Hardware and Software for Prepress and Plate Making.
• Evaluate and determine Hardware and Software needs of the department.
• Work with IT to solve technical problems causing downtime.
• Other duties as assigned.
