We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Pricing Analyst to join our Merchandising team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Director, Retail Pricing, you will be responsible for setting retail prices to maximize sales and profit opportunities while maintaining each Banner’s unique market position. You will provide analytical expertise to the Merchandising teams for both regular and promotional pricing, based on category strategies and measure the success and impact of pricing strategies within the assigned banner and organizationally.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with Category Managers to set and maintain regular price strategies based on category objectives and banner market position.
- Providing analysis of both regular and promotional pricing in a grocery/retail setting, recommending promotional prices where it can provide improved profit.
- Exercising an understanding of pricing rules and their interaction and effect on company goals.
- Utilizing required systems, programs, and reports (e.g., QlikView, Excel) proficiently to perform in-depth analyses.
- Developing and using standardized measurement tools (e.g., reports, scorecards, templates) to monitor category performance and achievement of financial goals (e.g., sales, margin, market share).
- Communicating standards and measurement tools to key stakeholders and facilitate learning (as required).
- Auditing how price checks are administered to determine the level of adherence within assigned regions and presenting to key stakeholders any issues or concerns.
You have:
- A post-secondary education in business administration or relevant discipline.
- 3-5 years of retail sales experience including procurement, pricing, and product merchandising.
- Knowledge and experience in interpreting consumer marketing and buying principles including demographic and industry trends.
- Experience in interpreting financial information such as budgets and income statements.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience with Power BI, IRI, QlikView, Nielsen, AMP, and Blue Yonder (considered an asset).
- Experience with project management (considered an asset).
