About the role:
The Pricing Portfolio Manager, within the Product & Pricing team in Customer Markets, will lead the strategy for AGL’s energy portfolio, ensuring competitive and sustainable product offerings. This role focuses on optimizing gross margins while balancing customer acquisition, retention, and cross-sell objectives.
As a Pricing Portfolio Manager you will be responsible for managing pricing strategies, conducting annual reviews, and ensuring portfolio performance by leveraging deep expertise in pricing models, cost analysis, and regulatory compliance. The Manager collaborates with senior leaders to present strategies that align with shareholder interests, customer impact, and legal requirements. Additionally, this role supports budgeting processes and provides critical insights and recommendations to inform executive decision-making. As a vital leader, the Pricing Portfolio Manager shapes innovative future product and pricing strategies and influences the development of pricing technologies

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee revenue and gross margin budgets across fuel types, states, and segments. Identify risks and opportunities, recommending actions for revenue growth, cost management, and competitive advantage.
  • Lead end-to-end pricing for residential customers, including price changes, recontracting, acquisition, and retention, utilizing Dynamic Pricing.
  • Provide critical business direction in the development of pricing toolsets and capability to spearhead AGL’s transformation objectives.
  • Leverage deep pricing expertise and cross-functional collaboration to shape innovative strategies to drive the energy transition. Ensure adherence to evolving legal and regulatory pricing requirements. Manage a complex, regulated environment, balancing compliance, social responsibility, gross margin, and customer growth.
  • Support the Core Pricing Chapter Lead in presenting pricing strategies and events to senior executives.
  • Monitor industry shifts and competitive actions. Represent AGL in industry forums, identifying new opportunities across the supply chain.
  • Guide and develop the pricing analyst team, managing priorities, capacity, and career growth.

About you:

  • Previous experience in Pricing, Finance or Economics across the energy sector.
  • Proven experience in campaign management, recontracting and market price position.
  • Experience in managing and leading high-performance teams.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage commercial models
  • Contribute to a cross-functional team in a strategic capacity.
