Description:

This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS)
The PCLS service provides information and assistance to GPs and practice teams. It provides a single point of contact and a fast-response Helpdesk for concerns, issues and complaints raised by GPs and practice teams. It ensures GPs are kept up to date with relevant news and fosters relationships between primary and secondary care. The role also provides additional administrative support to the wider Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Team and supports elements of the foundation doctor teaching programme.
The Primary Care Liaison Service (PCLS) at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been cited by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges as an example of outstanding practice supporting initiatives driven by the joint NHS and Department of health and Social Care Delivery Plan for Recovering Access to Primary Care (May ‘23) to enable transformation and support general practice to address the challenges it faces, improving patient access by improving the primary - secondary care interface. We are now offering an exciting opportunity to join this innovative and forward-thinking team.
If you have extensive administrative knowledge from within the health sector, and are looking for an exciting new opportunity to make a difference across the wider health economy, we would encourage you to apply.
To undertake a range of tasks in order to deliver the PCLS and to provide administrative support to the wider CMO Service as necessary.
Our vision is to provide outstanding care for every patient. Patient care is at the heart of what we do at our three sites: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester and Andover War Memorial Hospital. Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 people across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
Our cultural ambition is to have a culture that places people at the heart of all we do, where we all belong, and where learning, improvement and excellence thrive.
We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and we are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.
The trust employs more than 9,000 staff and has a turnover of over £500 million a year. As a Foundation Trust, we are directly accountable to our members through the governors. The Council of Governors represent the interests of their constituencies and influence the future plans of the Foundation Trust.
