Description:
The purpose of the role is to provide flexible and high-quality project management across a number of key projects within the primary care transformation programme. The post holder will lead on specific projects and responsibilities will include:
- Project management: developing and owning a suite of project management documents including but not limited to project mandates, project plans, risk and issue logs, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with the SWL project management framework
- Actively engaging and working collaboratively with colleagues and partners across SWL to support project delivery, including coordinating complex activities
- Completing work and undertaking analysis to support project delivery
- Monitoring project delivery and developing update reports for a variety of project groups and Boards, including benefits realisation
- Supporting production of business cases and bids for funding
- Providing general support to the Primary Care Transformation Team, as required.
The postholder will need to be organised in work and in time management, with excellent attention to detail and able to adapt to changing programme requirements. The postholder will be a reliable team player.
The postholder is specifically required to work in a proactive manner, identifying problems and proposing solutions and alternative courses of action. The postholder will be required to undertake additional duties as requested, including various ad-hoc administrative duties.
NHS South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB), as part of South West London Integrated Care System (ICS), is a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people in our six boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth.
EACH ICS CONSISTS OF TWO STATUTORY ELEMENTS:
an Integrated Care Board, bringing the NHS together with its partners locally to improve health and care services
an Integrated Care Partnership (ICP): the broad alliance of organisations and representatives concerned with improving the care, health and wellbeing of the population, jointly convened by the ICB and local authorities in the area.
ICBs are statutory NHS bodies responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of integrated care systems (ICSs):
to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare;
tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access;
enhance productivity and value for money and;
help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
NHS South West London Integrated Care Board decides how the South West London NHS budget is spent and develops plans to improve people’s health, deliver higher quality care, and better value for money.

Project Management
- Work closely with Head of Primary Care Transformation and the Primary Care Access Lead to ensure projects within the primary care programme are clearly scoped and that they are managed according to the SWL project management framework.
- Develop and maintain project plans and other project management documentation e.g. risk and issue logs.
- Prepare update reports for relevant project groups and boards, and report regularly on project progress and outcomes, working with the SWL Transformation Office.
- Work closely with enabling workstreams to ensure adequate support is in place to specific projects, e.g. Communications & Engagement, Workforce and Finance.
- Attend project meetings related to specific projects. Occasionally provide minute taking support when required.
- Manage and track delivery of allocated projects to ensure milestones are achieved on time and proactively escalate any risks and issues to the Head of Primary Care Transformation.
Supporting Project Delivery
- Work with the Primary Care Transformation Team to complete work to a high quality, and agreed timelines, to support project delivery
- Actively engage and work with colleagues and partners across SWL to support project delivery
- Collate, analyse and present complex data to stakeholders to support project delivery
Communication and Relationships
- Develop strong relationships across SW London commissioners, providers and other stakeholders, including NHS England and other external agencies, and regularly liaise with them to ensure effective partnership and collaborative working
- Work in an integrated manner with stakeholders and establish SWL-wide networks
- Effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to build strong engagement within the projects
- Communicate information and issues, including briefings and reports, to team as appropriate
