JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position will be an integral member of Corporate Headquarters Employee and Labor Relations (ELR) function. This position will report to the Director, Employee and Labor Relations and will be actively involved in the development and implementation of enterprise ELR strategies centered on collective bargaining, contract administration, organizing campaigns, positive employee relations, and maintaining management representation across L3Harris. This role will be a key player in transforming the ELR function into a true change agent for the enterprise and will serve as the chief negotiator for select LR contracts. Additionally, this position will provide consultation to field HR partners on matters such as collective bargaining contract interpretation / guidance and grievance support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a chief labor negotiator (including first chair).

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • MBA/Masters degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or Economics preferred.
  • Experience as a chief labor negotiator with experience in developing and executing labor strategy and progressive labor solutions.
  • Previous experience in employee and labor relations (CBA administration, collective bargaining, and/or organizing drives).

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $101,000 - $187,000. For California, Seattle and New York City, the salary range for this role is $115,500 - $214,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and labor contracts, as applicable.
  • Guide field HR partners/labor teams on all aspects of negotiation preparation, including proposal development, economic costing, and contingency planning.
  • Analyze site and enterprise practices and data to ensure compliance with CBAs and understand trends regarding grievances, arbitration and mediation cases, and other related labor relations activities.
  • Assists field HR partners with ELR matters such as arbitrations, grievances, investigations, and responses.
  • Offers expert mentorship and comprehensive training to field HR partners to develop and enhance the ELR acumen internally, ensuring a robust understanding of labor laws, effective negotiation skills, and the fostering of positive employee relationships.
  • Assist in the development of business continuation plans (BCP).
  • Lead complex enterprise-wide projects from project identification and inception through implementation to increase employee engagement and strengthen leaders’ relationships with their teams.
  • Mitigate risk and improve positive employee relations by:
  • Leading climate assessments and maintaining management representation training for leaders and HRBPs.
  • Partnering with Centers of Excellence to identify and implement common metrics to assess and monitor risk.
  • Developing and implementing action plans with business leaders and HRBPs.
  • Research and communicate external ELR trends to HR leadership to ensure preparedness for changes and influence direction on policy updates and business practices.
  • Participate in building and improving standard work for the ELR function.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects, ELR COE projects, and other ELR/HR special projects.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams and departments such as HR, Operations, Global Benefits, Government Relations, internal and external Employment Counsel, Compensation, and Security.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%. Up to 40% during peak activities.
