- Proven experience in teaching and learning in the tertiary education sector.
- Experience managing concerns and complaints around risks/misuse of advanced and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE/TE MAHI
This newly created role will focus on supporting our staff to meet the ever-evolving challenges and opportunities of advanced and emerging technologies, particularly in the era of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).
As Principal Advisor, Advanced and Emerging Technologies, you will report directly to the Dean of Teaching and Learning and play a crucial role in shaping the future of education at the University of Otago | Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka.
You will be comfortable navigating the emerging technology space, with a strong understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can benefit education. You will work as part of a team delivering high-quality support to help staff provide a contemporary and cutting-edge student learning experience.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and support in advanced and emerging technologies for learning and teaching activities, including offering valuable resources and training.
- Providing expert advice to staff on the potential uses and challenges of new technologies.
- Developing and maintaining effective policies and procedures related to advanced and emerging technologies.
