Are you passionate about conservation work and can demonstrate experience of engaging with and consulting a wide range of audiences to support complex projects?
Join as a Principal Built Heritage consultant our talented Heritage team in our growing Croydon, Newcastle, Bristol or Leeds offices, as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we deliver exceptional projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. This position offers you an opportunities to be involved on a range of projects, particularly in our growing renewables market. We are specifically looking for an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative team environment, willing to contribute to and lead on some of the country’s major infrastructure projects from a built heritage perspective – guiding and steering design teams delivering high quality work.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
- A relevant first degree and/or post-graduate qualification in historic buildings or a related subject
- Appropriate level of membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists or the Institute of Historic Building Conservation
- Detailed knowledge of UK heritage legislation and policy
- Detailed knowledge of UK built heritage across a range of periods and building types and experience of undertaking the assessment of historic buildings and their setting, and the contribution that setting makes to a building’s significance
- Experience in heritage consultancy including the production of heritage statements and EIA / DCO experience.
- Experience in costing and project management
- Client focused team player with a positive attitude and ability to work with diplomacy and collaborate effectively
- Ability to manage own time and comfortable working both within a team or alone to tight deadlines
- Supporting with client communications and developing relationships with key contacts, ensuring a high level of customer service, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting.
- Willingness to work flexibly and travel when required to meet with clients and project teams.
