The Principal Business Strategy leads and executes analysis, research, and solution development to aid executive leadership in setting the strategy for supply chain related transformation initiatives, with a strong emphasis on applying project management principles to ensure timely and effective implementation of those initiatives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Experience: Previous experience in Supply Chain Management, particularly in Category Management, is highly regarded, as it drives strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Modeling and Strategic Evaluation: Engages in financial modeling and strategic evaluation of business opportunities, with a focus on project feasibility and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Data Proficiency: Demonstrates comfort with analyzing large data sets, utilizing data analytics to drive insights and inform strategic decisions. This capability is crucial for interpreting complex information and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Project Management: Takes a leading role in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that strategic initiatives are executed within defined timelines and budgets. Applies established project management methodologies to guide the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of projects.
  • Innovation and Cross-Unit Collaboration: Drives business model innovation and facilitates initiatives across different business units, leveraging project management skills to coordinate efforts and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Works closely with internal teams (e.g., finance, business unit leads, supply chain, IT, HR) to ensure successful project outcomes, highlighting the importance of integrated project teams in delivering on strategic initiatives.
  • Storytelling and Communication: Excels in storytelling through PowerPoint presentations and white papers, effectively communicating complex ideas and strategic plans to various audiences, including senior management.

Education and Experience

  • Education: A Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably with certifications or coursework in project management, highlighting a blend of strategic insight and practical project execution skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in related fields, with a preference for individuals who have a proven track record in project management and supply chain roles, underscoring the importance of a comprehensive skill set that spans strategic planning, project execution, and supply chain understanding.

Our Principal Business Strategy Managers earn between $143,800 - $215,800 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
