KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED…

• We welcome Senior Design Engineers and Lead CAD Designers to apply for this role
• You must have a previous background in CAD design with excellent knowledge of either Advanced Steel or Tekla working with structural steel or similar.
• Advanced Experience ( a minimum 5 years in the use of CAD design software, equivalent degree or college education is considered ).
• Customer focused attitude with a willingness to help develop a team of CAD designers
• Heading a team of CAD designers you will help control workflow, monitor performance and deliver the CAD Drawings for each project.
• Develop/improve/maintain the CAD processes within the department.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• IT literacy

WE WOULD LOVE TO MEET SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE IN …

• Autodesk Advanced Steel 3D Design package preferred or Tekla, Similar considered.
• Design Team Leadership/ Management
• AutoCAD or similar 3D package essential
• Bespoke development of fabrication detail for Structural & Architectural metal work
• Developing 3D CAD models for Steels fabrication for commercial/residential extensions and new build housing.
• Fabrication detail for production
• Procurement of material
• Pricing of design projects
• Plasma cutting setting

THE ROLE

This innovative and exciting role within our Steels Department will involve leading a team of CAD designers in designing bespoke structural and architectural metalwork structures.
You will be heading up a team involved in developing unique designs that range from complex steel extension work to ornate one of a kind conceptual metal work jobs.
You will be using high quality computer assisted design/drafting software to create, amend and finalise layout drawings including bespoke and associated construction drawings.
The role requires developing structural engineers detail by creating 3D GA’s using Autodesk Advance Steel.
Your projects will be varied and every day will present new opportunities for your design work for you and your team.
We are looking for a vibrant individual who has the personality and desire to interact to all levels, including customer design architects and building contractors. You would also need to have the ability to lead a team and deliver on targets by setting measurable KPIs within the department.
You will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining an organised file system for all drawings and associated templates for ease of use. You would also be involved in the daily running, which could include estimating.
General administration work would also be involved, to help sustain the growth of the business.
This role would suit a Mid-Level/Senior Designer with a product design degree looking for their next challenge of running a team of designers within a successful growing business.
