Responsibilities:

Mott MacDonald are currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our growing energy team in Europe. Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to:

  1. To undertake and manage the day to day operations in respect of the following key areas:
  • Civil and Structural design and specification in the areas of earthworks, ground analysis / investigation, pipework / equipment supports, site roadways, drainage, reinforced concrete foundations / bases for buildings and structural steel analysis.
  • Pipeline design including settlement and stability calculations.
  • Approval In Principle (AIP) generation.
  • Production, review and approval of civil / structural reports, drawings and calculations.
  1. Coordinate the delivery of the project tasks and deliverables within tight deadlines and multidisciplinary environment.
  2. Instruct CAD designers and engineers with regards to civil design.
  3. Work closely with and provide professional advice on Civil / Structural matters to relevant client personnel.
  4. Attend design meetings and site visits.
  5. Provide technical support for bid preparations.
  6. Thorough and conscientious checking of own and others work.
  7. Identify business development opportunities with both internal and external clients and raise the profile of the business both internally and externally.
  8. Undertake own continuing professional development and support the development of others.
  9. Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards.
  10. Work may require travel in the UK or abroad to offices and / or sites
