Responsibilities:
Mott MacDonald are currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join our growing energy team in Europe. Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to:
- To undertake and manage the day to day operations in respect of the following key areas:
- Civil and Structural design and specification in the areas of earthworks, ground analysis / investigation, pipework / equipment supports, site roadways, drainage, reinforced concrete foundations / bases for buildings and structural steel analysis.
- Pipeline design including settlement and stability calculations.
- Approval In Principle (AIP) generation.
- Production, review and approval of civil / structural reports, drawings and calculations.
- Coordinate the delivery of the project tasks and deliverables within tight deadlines and multidisciplinary environment.
- Instruct CAD designers and engineers with regards to civil design.
- Work closely with and provide professional advice on Civil / Structural matters to relevant client personnel.
- Attend design meetings and site visits.
- Provide technical support for bid preparations.
- Thorough and conscientious checking of own and others work.
- Identify business development opportunities with both internal and external clients and raise the profile of the business both internally and externally.
- Undertake own continuing professional development and support the development of others.
- Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environment and quality standards.
- Work may require travel in the UK or abroad to offices and / or sites
