Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an 8B Principal Clinical Psychologist to join the newly formed Community Complex Conditions Service in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB). This is a new interdisciplinary service consisting of Clinical Psychology, Consultant Therapist, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapy, MH/LD Nurse, case manager nurse, GP, Patient Experience Co-production Lead and comprehensive administrative support. The team is co-led by a Consultant Therapist and Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
The service has been created as part of the expansion of permanent Adferiad funding from Welsh Government. It is building on the success of the award winning Long Covid service and enabling us to expand our provision to support people presenting with similar needs who would benefit from this model. This can include a range of conditions such as complex breathlessness, Long Covid, other post-viral conditions and persistent physical symptoms such as functional neurological disorder.
We are passionate about co-development of our service and enriching it with research. The post holder will have opportunity to help us to continue developing these two important areas through work with our lived-experience consultation group and by supporting our research programme.
The post holders will be part of the BCUHB Health Clinical Psychology Department, which is a supportive, friendly and growing department of Clinical Psychologists working in physical health services across BCUHB and has strong links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.
This post is permanent with base to be agreed. Applications from those interested in part-time hours, job share or secondment will be considered.

The post holders will undertake clinical work within the BCUHB Community Complex Conditions Service, working directly and indirectly with patients, families and staff members. The Principal Clinical Psychologist will also provide training, supervision, consultancy and advice to multidisciplinary colleagues on psychological aspects of clinical management and contribute to service evaluation and planning. They will also support supervision and training of more junior clinical psychology staff, assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists.
