Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our Prague or Lisbon McKinsey office.
You will closely work with McKinsey engineers and professionals from external agencies across the world in our ClienTech Experience group. You will be a part of a cross-functional team responsible for development, quality assurance, reliability, product management, and user experience of digital and products and cloud platforms following the best industry practices. You will engage with internal users and stakeholders and collaborate with other teams responsible for different parts of our tech ecosystem like design, security, development tooling and cloud infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of cloud engineering experience
• Expert understanding of product development, DevSecOps, and hybrid cloud architectures
• Extensive understanding of Agile development and processes
• Exceptional experience managing technical priorities
• Strong experience building and leveraging container-based technologies with using Docker, Kubernetes, LinkerD, Traefik
• Strong experience with AWS cloud; Familiarity with Azure or GCP is a plus
• Strong experience with Cloud development and automation, experience writing & managing code developed in any of the following languages NodeJS, Terraform, Bash, Helm, YAML
• Strong understanding of security, logging, monitoring and performance aspects of cloud-native platform and application architectures
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines Github Actions
• Understanding of Git and Git flow
• Experience with data security and sensitivity along with encryption at rest and in-transit
• Strong experience with cloud cost optimization
• Ability to own Disaster Recovery plans and exercises
• Ability to debug production issues and assist in timely system recovery
• Hands-on experience working across various cloud environments that include IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS service offerings
• Provide design ideas, engineering for complex integrations across cloud platforms
• Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)

You will closely work with product managers, technical leads and developers to integrate their products and develop new features that improve both the security, usability and customer experience utilizing agile methodologies.
In this role, you will primarily be focusing on enterprise service planning, design, cloud cost optimization, developer support and experience, and building CI/CD pipelines and resource artifacts. You’ll participate as a senior technical expert on decisions and priorities regarding improving the overall infrastructure availability and stability of multiple environment deployments. You will assist the development team in various audit, certification and security initiatives.
You will be responsible for professional coaching and leadership to a wide team of technical resources and external vendors. You will oversee all aspects of multiple global projects throughout project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope. You’ll act as a technical lead for a major product, driving delivery of actionable solutions to complex technical challenges. You’ll continuously expand and apply knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices to ensure we optimize our architecture and security.
