Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities

- A passion to solve climate change through the full spectrum of technical, social and economic tools available.
- Strong business development expertise and experience
- Demonstrated deep critical thought and the ability to get into a clients shoes, tailoring solutions to their needs.
- An engineering or similar technical degree.
- Post graduate studies in business, energy, climate change and/or sustainability desirable but not essential
- Candidates with accounting, finance and economics backgrounds will also be considered
- Between 7 to 12 years of relevant professional experience; consulting experience well regarded.
- Experience in and knowledge of the mining and oil and gas sector
- Comfort with managing multiple projects within a client-oriented environment, including critical thinking skills on environment and sustainability problems.
- Ability to liaise effectively and communicate with a range of stakeholders to build client relationships and grow business development opportunities.
- Proven experience and expertise demonstrated under applicable Australian and global frameworks (e.g. National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme, Climate Active, the GHG Protocol series, PAS 2060, etc.) required.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, including advanced MS Excel skills.
- Deep knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas protocol
- Experience in ESG Strategy well regarded but not essential
- Previous project management experience across multi-disciplinary teams
- Australian residency or work visa
Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are seeking a Perth-based Principal Consultant specialised in sustainability advisory services, including in energy, climate change and carbon accounting to join our Climate Resiliency and Decarbonisation team. Working with a team known for its collaborative, positive and supportive culture, you will play an important role in advising and implementing solutions for our clients that drive sustainable performance.
You will deliver advisory services that support our clients throughout their net zero journey, in areas such as decarbonisation, carbon accounting, carbon markets, renewable energy, climate risk and ESG strategy.
With a diverse clientele spanning from ASX/FTSE listed corporations to boutique brands, you will have the opportunity to engage with a wide array of industries and geographical markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and realise compelling decarbonisation opportunities
- Create solutions for our clients’ climate change and sustainability related challenges.
- Provide tailored strategic advice to clients that support them in achieving their climate related goals.
- Manage projects for delivery on-time, in-full and to client expectations and budget.
- Develop and maintain a professional profile with key clients and the sustainability community, support business development activities such as attendance at key industry conferences and speaking and presentation opportunities.
- Support the development of proposals that demonstrate an understanding of the client’s business and creative scopes of work to achieve their goals, and actively contribute to Anthesis’ business development activities.
- You will lead teams involved in projects such as:
- Industrial decarbonisation
- Emissions accounting and auditing under compliance schemes such as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERs)
- Complex Greenhouse Gas accounting across the full value chain
- Carbon offsetting project development under the Emission Reduction Fund (ERF)
- Alignment with Safeguard Mechanism requirements
- Energy efficiency and emissions reductions strategies
- Renewable energy advice and procurement for large industrials and corporates
