Description:
- Utilise your Technological expertise to provide support and advice to the Office of the Associate Secretary
- An Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service
- VPS Grade 6: $130,673 - $174,869 plus superannuation.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant business, data engineering, data analytics or ICT tertiary qualification would be highly regarded
- Agile training qualification(s) or experience would be highly regarded
- Relevant vocational qualifications and certifications, e.g. in Data Engineering, Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service Management, Change Management and/or data analytics are desirable.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Principal Data Engineer works in the Data Development and Integration (DDI) team, to provide technical leadership to support the design and development of end-to-end data engineering solutions for business units across the Department.
SOME OF YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Leading the design and development of data transformations, data pipelines and wider data integration, management, storage, quality and security solutions using the new Enterprise data platform
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Enterprise data platform
- Driving adoption of the AWS-based Enterprise data platform across DJCS while designing and building templates, standards and repeatable pipelines.

About You:As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Extensive Cloud platform experience, including AWS, Azure or GCP
- A wealth of experience in building reports with PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools
- Rich experience building data flows or ELT jobs using automation tools such as DBT, Prefect, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar
